We are dedicated to safeguarding any personal information collected online and to helping parents and children learn how to exercise control over personal information while exploring the Internet. Because many of the visitors to this site are children, defined in the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA) as anyone under the age of 13, we take care that our content is suitable for children. In addition, we take special measures to help protect children's privacy while they are online. For example, we do not ask children to disclose more personal information than is necessary for them to participate in a particular activity, and we take efforts to prevent children from posting contact information.

- When you register for a membership on Kidzclix.net we limit the information we collect and will not use any such information (except as stated in this Policy) that would allow us or anyone else to identify you. When prompted to create a member name/username, we recommend you use non-personally identifiable information. Your login information is only used in some activities and games where users might want to save scores and creations.
- In all our online magazine activities, we may occasionally ask for certain information. The information we collect is non-personal (such as member name/username, grade, city, and state). If you enter a contest or send us a question, we will also ask for a parent�s e-mail address. We only collect enough information from our visitors to make activities on Kidzclix.net fun, interesting, and useful.
- If a member decides to use our KidzConnect features, where a member can create a personal profile, use our message boards, receive instant messages from accepted friends, and use our chat system, then KidzClix, Inc. assures you that no personal information submitted by members to KidzClix.net during the sign-up process will be revealed to other members.
- If you submit stories, artwork, comments or anything else to us which is posted on our site, you will be identified on our site only by member name/username, grade, city and state. All materials submitted to KidzClix.net become the legal property of KidzClix Inc. and will not be returned. KidzClix.net offers no monetary or other compensation for submitted materials, except as indicated in contest rules and gallery guidelines.
- Only an adult with a credit card can complete the registration for a membership. Parental consent is demonstrated by the use of a parent�s credit/debit card.
As KidzClix Inc. continues to offer our visitors new and different types of content and services, we may modify our practices from time to time. You will be bound by the practices in effect when you visit our site. However, we will treat all personal information we collect in accordance with the privacy notice in effect at the time the information is collected.
It should be noted that the COPPA requires that we inform parents and legal guardians about how we collect, use, and disclose personal information from children under 13 years of age; and that we obtain the consent of parents and guardians in order for children under 13 years of age to use certain features of our Web site and in connection with the privacy of children who visit our site. Below we explain how we do that for children. Also, when we use the term "parent," it includes legal guardians.
We provide this explanation of our information privacy practices, so you can understand how we handle information provided our members and their parents.
Our Privacy Policy
1. The Information We Collect
At KidzClix Inc., the only personally identifiable information we collect from children is a valid e-mail address and phone number of their parents. We ONLY use this e-mail address to send these users one message to activate their KidzClix Inc. account, and to send important information regarding their account, opt-in email messages about KidzClix news and features, and user controlled emails regarding KidzConnect features. We always require children under 13 to include the e-mail address of parent or guardian.
KidzClix Inc. requires the parent to enter their valid e-mail address in order to activate their child's account. The registration process for new members requires a parent to enter all information.
Children can surf Kidzclix.net, view content, and engage in educational activities without any personal information being collected. The only information we collect from children during our registration process is a child's first name, parent's e-mail address, optional child's e-mail address, member name/user name, and password. We collect birth dates to validate the ages of our guests, including children. We do not collect any other personally identifiable information from children during our registration process. We also will collect a child's e-mail address from a consenting parent for the purpose of sending the child e-mail related to a subscription. Note that COPPA prohibits all websites that are directed to children under 13 from conditioning a child's participation in an online activity on the child's providing more personal information than is reasonably necessary.
For some of our online activities - such as polls or surveys - we may ask users to provide additional information that is not personally identifiable, such as country of residence or a visitor's favorite color. Sometimes, children will be asked to enter a first name and e-mail associated with the account, in order to participate in contests or to participate in a special activity, but the e-mail will never be shared or displayed as part of the contest or special activity.
Additionally, when visitors come to our site, we automatically collect some non-personally identifiable "computer" information, such as the type of computer operating system (e.g., Windows XP or Mac OS), the user's "IP Address" (e.g. 111.111.111.11 - which is like a computer�s ID), the Web browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Firefox) being used, and information regarding the Internet service provider (e.g. Comcast, AT&T). This helps us understand our user's technology requirements.
We collect limited usage information in connection with member logins and passwords in order to assess simultaneous use with respect to subscription limits. This information is kept strictly confidential and is never shared internally with non-essential staff and is never shared or sold to third-parties.
As part of our subscription and registration process, members are asked to voluntarily submit personal information in order to create an account (typically child�s first name, grade, e-mail address, phone number, payment information, billing information, member name/username, and unique password). A member�s phone number, e-mail address, payment information, billing information, and password will never be shared by KidzClix to anyone, except as required by law, and also to process payments. We will use that information only to provide the service and will never sell or license the information to third parties. When we ask for information in connection with services that members register for, we will always inform them about the types of information we collect and how we use it.
Further, KidzClix Inc. will never sell or market directly to minors and will always seek parental notification and consent whenever a child attempts to purchase a KidzClix Inc. product or provide personally-identifiable information to KidzClix, Inc.
Finally, we collect personal and financial information from members as set out in Section 6 of this Privacy Policy. At KidzClix Inc., we respect your personal privacy and we will never use your financial information for any purpose other than processing payments to KidzClix Inc. or fulfilling your merchandise order. The personal and financial information that you enter to purchase a membership or enable a purchase from the KidzClix Inc. shop is only used for processing credit card payments made to KidzClix Inc. This information is safeguarded with industry standard encryption, designed to secure your credit card transaction and other personal information.
2. How We Use the Information
We do not keep any personal information we obtain beyond the time it is needed. Sometimes we use a member's e-mail address to track usage and to ensure users are following the site's End User License Agreement ("EULA"), in order to ensure our community and site is safe.
We also encourage members to submit their original artwork or other materials as an attachment to an e-mail. We do however, retain control of how all materials are used and displayed on the KidzClix Inc. Web site. If any materials are deemed inappropriate and/or offensive as described in our EULA, we will remove it and we will notify the parent via e-mail address provided to us during the registration process. All materials submitted to KidzClix.net are governed by the terms of the EULA, and upon submission become the property of KidzClix, Inc.
We occasionally use the non-personally identifiable information that is input by our members to improve the design and content of our site, to personalize our members' experience on KidzClix Inc., and to offer products, programs, and services. We also may use this information in the aggregate to analyze Web site usage.
We will disclose information we maintain when required to do so by law, for example, in response to a court order or a subpoena. We also may disclose such information in response to a law enforcement agency's or other public agency's (including schools or children services) request or if we feel that such disclosure may prevent the instigation of a crime. Finally, to the extent permitted by law, we may disclose information to a prospective purchaser of KidzClix Inc. acquiring all or most of the assets relating to KidzClix Inc.
We may transfer personal information and store it outside of the jurisdiction in which a member of KidzClix Inc. is located and, although such personal information will be protected by the security measures described in this Privacy Policy, it will be also be subject to local laws.
We will not use or transfer personally identifiable information in ways that are materially different from the ones described above without also providing notification of such practices and obtaining parental consent for any materially different uses of children's information.
3. Collection of Information for Third-Party Sites and Sponsors
KidzClix Inc. is proud of the fact that we do not, under any circumstances, sell or license members� personal information to third parties. Also, before someone advertises on our Web site, we perform extensive research into that company or organization. Advertising is limited, and permitted only to companies or organizations that meet our rigid standards of business and moral ethics and policy, and that offer services or products that will be a benefit to children or parents. Advertising is limited only to some Web pages that are part of the Kidz Connect social networking aspect of our Web site. The KidzConnect is a special feature for our members, where a profile page can be set to private. Our intention is to keep KidzClix Inc. free from any sort of direct advertising that is not appropriate for children and parents.
4. Cookies
KidzClix Inc. uses a software technology called "cookies." Cookies are small text files that we place in visitors' computer browsers to store their preferences. Cookies themselves do not contain any personally identifiable information. Although cookies could enable us to relate a visitor's use of this Web site to personal information that a visitor has provided, such as an e-mail address, we do not use them for this purpose. We do use "cookies" to determine how many visitors we have and how often they visit various sections of our Web site.
So, as you explore kidzclix.net, a cookie will tell us which pages you visit and the amount of time between each page visit. This cookie does not remember any personal information; it just helps us identify new and repeat visitors, and tells us how long visitors spend on our site and which pages receive the most traffic.
Also, if you watch a video clip or listen to an audio clip on kidzclix.net, a cookie may remember which media player (e.g., Real Player, QuickTime) and which type of clip (high or low bandwidth) you prefer to use on your computer. You may change your video and audio preferences at any time, or choose a player each time you view or listen to a clip.

We have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data security, and correctly use the information we collect online.
The security of users� personal information is important to us. When a User enters sensitive information (such as credit card number) on our registration or order forms, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL). We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. 6. Financial Information
If you decide to purchase a membership for you or your child, billing information will be required at the time of purchase. That billing information is only used for the purpose of processing payments made to KidzClix Inc. and is safeguarded by SSL technology.
7. Parental Review of Information
Parents, please send an e-mail to our Privacy Manager, whose contact information is provided below, if you would like to do any of the following:
Access the personally identifiable information that has been submitted to KidzClix Inc. about themselves or their child, correct factual errors in such information, request to have this information deleted, or request that we no longer collect or maintain such information. Understand though, that this information should be created by the parent with the child, and can be changed by the parent at any time. In addition, the parent can select who can view this information (e.g., public, friends, nobody).
Please be sure to include your e-mail address and a telephone number where we can reach you. To protect your child's privacy and security, we will take reasonable steps to help verify your identity before granting you access to the personal information that we collect and maintain about your child.
Before contacting us, please keep in mind that at any time parents can refuse to permit us to collect further personal information from their child and can request that any personal information we have collected be deleted from our records.
A parent can access, change, or delete his or her child's account information by logging on to the child's account by clicking on the members� login button located at the top of the KidzClix.net home page. The parent will need to have their child's member name/username and password. After logging in, click on the KidzConnect navigation link to bring up the KidzConnect home page, where members can click on the "Edit Profile" button/link to edit a child�s information. If a member forgot their password, they can receive a new password sent to them by e-mail. Just visit the Members login page and click on the "forgot password" link.
A parent can contact our customer service department to access, change, or delete the personal information that we have collected from his or her child by sending an e-mail to [email protected], or [email protected]. Please include the child's username and the parent's e-mail address in the e-mail so that we can better assist you with your inquiry or request and confirm that you are authorized to make this request.
8. Permitted Disclosures
We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information should it be required by law and, in the rare case, when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, to protect the safety of an individual or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process.
